Bud Strickland Now Director of Product

Mount Vernon Mills is pleased to announce the addition of Bud Strickland as the director of product development for the company's denim division. Strickland's extensive background includes 38 years of textile industry experience and many key relationships in the industry. In his new position, Strickland is tasked with expanding Mount Vernon Mills' denim collection. "Bud brings a wealth of experience in product development, as well as other key management positions. During his 38 years in this industry, he has developed extensive customer relationships, both domestically and internationally," said Richard Turner, President of the apparel fabrics division of Mount Vernon Mills. "Bud is highly regarded in our business and we are proud to welcome him to the Mount Vernon family as we work together to expand denim product lines for our customers." Strickland has spent his entire career in the textile industry, and has held positions in textile product development for the past 25 years. Prior to joining Mount Vernon Mills, Strickland served as the director of product development for multiple companies, including the Cone Denim division of International Textile Group, Liberty Denim and Cone Mills. He also held the position of technical superintendent at WestPoint Pepperell. Strickland graduated from North Carolina State University with a BS in textiles. Mount Vernon Mills is a 165-year-old manufacturer of textile, chemical and related products for the apparel, industrial, institutional and commercial markets. The Apparel fabrics Group produces denim, flame resistant and piece-dyed fabric and is the largest of all the Mount Vernon Mills groups, accounting for more than half of all company sales.
