The Fall 2012 Los Angeles Fashion Market took place March 12-15, 2012 at the California Market Center (CMC). Brisk, steady traffic and new accounts were the predominant reports from many of the CMC's showrooms and exhibitors of the Market's featured tradeshows, including SELECT Contemporary Tradeshow, FOCUS Apparel & Accessories Show, and TRANSIT LA Shoe Show. The Market featured thousands of lines and daily special events, including a packed Opening Night Reception co-sponsored by Patron Tequila. "We opened on Sunday and did very well. We've been non-stop busy from the minute we opened each morning of Market," said Lynn Girard, owner of Lynn Girard Showroom in Suite C585. Vishaka Lame, owner of Showroom Five21 in Suite B530 on the Contemporary floor, concurred: "Our showroom saw an increase in new buyer accounts and a steady flow of buyer traffic overall at this Market." Key stores shopping this Market included Fred Segal, Kitson, LF Stores, Bon Ton Department Store, Marshall Retail Group, Dillards, M Fredric & Co., Free People, Gilt Groupe, The Doneger Group, Fashion Network, Nasty Gal, Piperlime, Forever 21, Wasteland, Kohls, Splendid, Lili Beverly Hills, Wynn Las Vegas, MGM Grand, The Ritz Carlton Hotels, Just Basics, Roxy, Princess Cruises, Village Footwear, Eve & Me, London Boots, Pro Sports Club, Bella James, Via Lago, Tootsies, UCLA Store, Retailologie, Chantel & Vicki, Bella Donna Boutique, Sage Brush Traders, Balboa Bay Club, W Boutique, San Diego Harley Davidson, The Shoe Lab, Kitsch Couture, Madam Butterfly, JMR Chalk Garden, Annette B, Urban Gypsies, Viva Diva, Lulu's Boutique, Posh Boutique, Girlfriends, Ai Wish, Santa Barbara Arts, LA Style, KSL Resorts, Verona, Fantazi Fashions, La Costa Resort & Spa, DD Décor, Due Maternity, Gaga for Kids, Breck Kidz, The Red Balloon, and Bendls, to name a few. There was also a strong presence of international retailers this Market, including Shinjuku Isetan, Kitson Tokyo, Rizzi B, Styleholder Co. Ltd., and Free's International from Tokyo, Namu International from Seoul, Atlantic Kids from Grand Cayman, Baby Berry from Sao Paulo, Scarlette Boutique Acapulco, Fiori from Hong Kong, Mimi Boutique from San Salvado, and Mainstream Clothiers LTD, Jack + Jill Clothing, Purr Petite Ltd, Sofia Bella Fashions, and Blings & Things from Canada, among others. In the Fashion Theater of the CMC's Main Lobby, SELECT Contemporary Tradeshow exhibitors echoed showroom reports, "seeing a steady stream of traffic. People are writing orders over multiple seasons. This has definitely been a successful show for us," said Kim Shattuck of Contemporary footwear brand Boutique 9. SELECT was held Monday-wednesday of the Market, and presented a tightly curated selection of Contemporary apparel, accessories and footwear exhibitors that included Sam Edelman, Deepa Gurnani, Boutique 9, Enzo Angiolini, Gillian Julius, Merci Marie, Butter by Nadia, Azaara, Hyde Collection, Pour La Victoire, Remi & Reid, Rocco e Dante, Saint Vintage Designs, Inge Christopher, Whiting & Davis, ADA Handbags, Minnie Rose, Monserat De Lucca, Libby Edelman, Darling, Huit Huit, Love Cupcakes, Ally Rose Toppers, Belgaro Jewelry, Adina Reyter, Double Happiness Jewelry, Henri Lou Jewelry, Voom by Joy Han, and many more. New exhibitor Adina Reyter introduced her fine jewelry collection to SELECT buyers this Market, and noted: "Traffic was great throughout SELECT. We were pleasantly surprised, especially with the amount of new accounts we opened this Show." In the Penthouse, 13th floor, TRANSIT exhibitors also reported seeing a steady stream of buyers. "We had a consistently busy show this edition. Right from the get-go we were off to a great start," said Helen Taylor of BC Shoes and Seychelles. Suzie Lister of Splendid and Ella Moss Footwear agreed: "We opened a lot of new accounts, especially with fashion boutiques, which was very exciting." TRANSIT Shoe Show was held Monday-wednesday. As the only dedicated footwear show running in conjunction with LA Fashion Market, the showcase is geared toward the fashion boutique buyers of Market, as well as footwear retailers. Notable labels included Vince Camuto, the Frye Company, Nina Shoes, Splendid and Ella Moss Footwear, Report, Calvin Klein, Steve Madden, Donald J. Pliner, DV by Dolce Vita, MIA, Betsey Johnson, Kenneth Cole Reaction, Lucky Brand, Desigual, BCBGeneration, Matiko, Seychelles, Rocket Dog, Lovely People, Kelsi Dagger, CAT Footwear, Naughty Monkey, Aussie Dogs, Nomad Footwear, Bass, Fergie, Corso Como, Blowfish Malibu, Chinese Laundry, The Frye Company, and Irregular Choice, among many more. Across from TRANSIT in the Penthouse, FOCUS Apparel & Accessories Show presented its handpicked collection of Contemporary, Young Contemporary labels and emerging brands looking to break into the Market. This edition featured returning exhibitors Jeffrey Campbell Shoes & Handbags, Mystree, Mon Bijou and Hourglass Lily, as well as new exhibitors Shay & Ingi, Aluminations, A-train, Sharon Tang, Joie Devivre, Cher Lenay, Sledgehammer, Boot Tapas, Sassy Hooks, Judy P Apparel, and many others.

was the perfect place to
debut our line to LA Fashion

& Ingi. "Overall the show
went really well and
surpassed our expectations.
We gained brand exposure
which should be extremely
beneficial." Dates for the Fall II / Holiday 2012 LA Fashion Market are Monday - Thursday, June 11-14, 2012. The Market is also open to buyers on Sunday, June 10, 2012, for Preview.
