- Egytex Flashback:
Egytex is an annual Trade Fair but last year wasn't held. The last Egytex that was held was in 2006, which was called: Egytex 2006, it had 130 Exhibitor, 476 buyers and 278 buying agents representing all major markets for Egypt's textile and clothing exports. Apart from sizeable representation from leading companies catering to the markets in U.S.A., U.K., Spain, France, Germany and Italy, there were buyers from Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, Greece, Netherlands, UAE, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Russia and China visiting the three day event. Continuing its steady growth the 24% increase in number of buyers/buying agents as well as participants in this edition of the fair compared to the last Egytex 2004 fair strongly indicates the increasing importance of Egytex, both from the exhibitors and the buyer's point of view. The 6th edition of Egytex held from 9th to 11th of May, 2005 saw participation of 130 exhibitors who showcased their best variety in yarns, fabrics, apparel, home textile and accessories for an impressive audience that included 476 overseas buyers and 278 buying agencies. The encouraging traffic of visitors indicated that Egypt is being looked upon as a major source of apparel worldwide and the Egytex Trade Fair is an ideal platform not only to initiate business but also to understand the high potential and capabilities of the Egyptian textile and garment industry to match the best in the world. The fair spread out over an area of 2000 sq. mts. to include stalls of various sizes in hall no. 15A of Cairo International Fair Ground, Cairo – Egypt . Overall the display looked vibrant with colors, shine and sparkles splashed generously everywhere.
