Started in February 2005 by Daniel and Andi Ballard, a young brother & sister duo, Rebel Yell is inspired heavily from childhood memories growing up in Virginia.  And no, the name has nothing to do with James Dean, or Billy Idol.  It's a name inspired by the rowdy all-American lifestyle we grew up in back in Virginia, says Andi, the brand's designer.  When it comes to design she says, I want Rebel Yell to be super-fresh and easy to wear.  The kind of clothing that doesn't overpower you, but still makes you look damn good.  I obsess about the fit and design details, and refuse to put out a product that Daniel and I wouldn't want to wear.

Getting Rebel Yell off the ground was no easy task for the siblings.   We both moved cross-country and were faced with a lot of adversity, but we wouldn't take no for an answer, recalls Daniel.  If a door closed in our face, we would kick it down!  We've basically had that attitude our whole lives.  With that gung ho approach the two set out to design a line that would become an instant hit.

From the day we launched the line at Project in Spring 2005, the response has been overwhelming, says Andi.  One of the biggest compliments we got came from a company we really respect they wanted to buy Rebel Yell before it even had a track record.  We wanted our independence, so we passed.  With all the love we've gotten from fashion insiders and celebrities, it makes all the risk and hard work worth it!

The future of Rebel Yell is looking brighter than Hillary Duff's grill.  If it weren't enough that Andi's designs are getting fresher by the day, Daniel and Andi have also partnered with Hollywood heavyweight Guy Oseary.  Guy brings a lot to the table in terms of marketing and branding expertise.  He knows everyone and their mother, and we're working on putting together some really cool things in 2006, says Daniel.

Rebel Yell can be found in the finest specialty stores across America, including Ron Herman, Kitson and Dari in Los Angeles; E Street in Chicago; National Jean Company, Intermix, Henry Bendel's and The Lounge in New York; Villain's Vault in San Francisco;  Blue Bee in Santa Barbara;  and Electric Lady Land in lovely Scottsdale.
