Within the framework of its alliance with WHO's NEXT, Sensation Mode is proud to present Montreal Fashion Week, which will be showcasing the work of designer Denis Gagnon at a creative exhibition to be held in Paris from January 29 to February 1st.  This event will provide Montreal and its Fashion Week with heightened visibility with buyers and media from around the world.  Located at the entrance to the Show, a booth will introduce visitors to the fall-winter 2009-2010 collection of a gem of a designer who embodies so well the effervescence of Montreal, city of fashion: Denis Gagnon.

We are delighted to initiate this event, carried out under the banner of our productive partnership with the WHO's NEXT show in Paris.  This visibility is invaluable for supporting our design manufacturers and their exports, notes Jean-franois Daviau, co President of Sensation Mode, which organizes and produces Montreal Fashion Weeks.  Our mission is to promote design and that is precisely what we are doing yet again, by supporting several designers, including Denis Gagnon, one of our homegrown design geniuses.  I am also quite proud to see our partnership with WHO's NEXT produce another fine success.  In fact, I have no doubt that this type of cooperation will soon become a true tradition.

This initiative has been rendered possible thanks to the financial assistance of Sensation Mode and the Ministre du Dveloppement conomique, de lnnovation et de l Exportation (MDEIE - Department of Economic Development, Innovation, and Export Trade) and the support of the WHO's NEXT show.

Denis Gagnon

Recognized for his singular approach to leather, his material of choice, Denis Gagnon creates fashions whose sophistication and elegance have distinguished themselves since the year 2000.  He is, without a doubt, one of today's most influential Montreal designers.  For fall-winter 09-10, Denis Gagnon has looked to his favourite materials leather, silk, and luxurious jerseys for the creation of a lavish collection inspired, once again, by the asymmetrical lines of draped neo-roman styles.

The project

In February 2008, WHO's NEXT and Sensation Mode forged a novel partnership and developed an exchange program involving up-and-coming new talent.  For the 14th and 15th editions of Montreal Fashion Week, several French designers had the opportunity of showing their talent and collections in North America, confirming the status of Montreal fashion events on the international scene. Moreover, a delegation of 12 companies participated in the WHO's NEXT Show in Paris, thanks to Sensation Mode's partnership.

16th edition of Montreal Fashion Week

A great Canadian fashion and design rendez-vous, the upcoming edition of Montreal Fashion Week, a production of Sensation Mode, will be held at the Bonsecours Market from March 2 to 5, 2009.
