Market Center Management Company (MCMC), the management company of leading wholesale trade centers and trade events around the world, and GlobalTex: LA International Textile & Sourcing Fair today announced its schedule of seminars and special events for GlobalTex. The show will launch April 28-30, 2009 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC). GlobalTex is endorsed by the Textile Association of Los Angeles (TALA) and the California Fashion Association (CFA). In order to best serve our attendees our seminars and special events will be held on the show floor, said Bill Winsor, president and CEO, MCMC. GlobalTex will provide a cohesive and fresh environment offering important trend information and business insights. Our goal is to allow attendees to take advantage of the opportunities in our easy-to-shop venue. GlobalTex will offer a variety of education opportunities and special events for attendees in the Seminar Suite located in the South Hall, Hall G. Below are details: Mudpie West Coast agent, Chris Brandt of The Patricia Brandt Company, will conduct several seminars during GlobalTex discussing Creative Utopia a look at the importance of alternative energy and its impact on fashion for spring 2010. The presentations will include trends of inspirational garments, prints, graphics and color. Brand's seminars include: Women's Trend Focus on Tuesday, April 28 at 1:30 p.m.; Children's Trend Focus on Wednesday, April 29 at 10 a.m.; and Men's Trend Focus on Thursday, April 30 at 2 p.m. Barbra Night, Trends West Los Angeles, will present several seminars discussing what's new and hot in Los Angeles, what trendsetters are wearing, and what's selling now. Attendees will find out how they can benefit by developing private labels with Trends West as a reliable resource. Trends West, publishers of L.A.'s Retail Notebook, is the reality-based fashion service that shops the stores and scours the streets for all things hot in Tinsel town. Night's seminars include: Menswear Retail Trends on Wednesday, April 29 at 1:30 p.m.; Fashion Trends at Retail on Wednesday, April 29 at 3 p.m.; and Womenswear Retail Trends on Thursday, April 30 at 9 a.m. Additional seminars follow: Tuesday, April 28 Spring/summer 2010 Inter-industry Fused Color and Lifestyle Trends for the Junior, Missy, Young Mens, Kids, and Home Fashion Markets; presented by Fran and Arnold Sude, Design Options, Los Angeles at 10:30 a.m. The environment of the body has become one with the environment of the home. A free Season of Color will be given away to a lucky attendee. Boxed Lunch Panel Discussion: Using Software to Cut Costs; presented by Frances Harder, president and founder, Fashion Business, Inc. at noon a panel will discuss what types of systems are available and how they interface to help a company become more efficient and lean as well as the importance of investing time in ongoing IT education and training. The panel will include: Henry Cherner, co-founder, AIMS; Shahin Kohan, CEO, Focal Technology Solutions, Inc.; Brian Kastner, Centric Software; and John Blevins, unified communications solutions specialist, Microsoft Corp. The panel will be moderated by Scott Allen, owner, Notice. Vendor-sponsored Program: Using Cutting Edge Technology to Reduce Expenses and Increase ROI; presented by Adikus Sulpizi, senior product specialist, Business Management Systems at 3 p.m. Attendees will learn how to eliminate waste from operations, provide management with tools to control business, speed up the product development process, reduce operational costs and much more. The panel will include Ken Wengrod, founder, FTC Commercial Corp.; Debra Stevenson, CEO, BUZZFLIKR PR; West Coast bureau chief, Apparel Search, and founding partner, The Skyline Studios; and John Blevins, unified communications solution specialist, Microsoft Corp. Seminar and Networking Cocktail Mixer: Trend Report on the Economy; presented by Ilse Metchek, president, California Fashion Assoc. at 4:30 p.m. The panel will include experts on banking and consumer products analysis. Thursday, April 30 Breakfast Seminar: Spring/summer 2010: Color and Lifestyle Trends for the American Marketplace; presented by Fran and Arnold Sude, Design Options, Los Angeles at 7:30 a.m. Success in the United States depend on knowledge of consumer preferences including key reorder colors in the Junior, Missy, young Mens, Kids, and Home Fashion Industries.
