In 2017, Gildan Activewear purchased American clothing company, American Apparel for $88 million at auction.

May 2015 Summary:  Gildan is a leading supplier of quality branded basic family apparel, including T-shirts, fleece, sport shirts, underwear, socks, hosiery, and shapewear.
