An association is a group of people organized for a joint purpose. Factoring is a financial transaction and a type of debtor finance in which a business sells its accounts receivable (i.e., invoices) to a third party (called a factor) at a discount. A clothing company will sometimes factor its receivable assets to meet its present and immediate cash needs.
American Factoring Association: The American Factoring Association (AFA) was founded in 2009 with the sole purpose of educating the public and policymakers on the availability of working capital for financing America's small businesses and to conduct efforts in support of increasing working capital financing.
Secured Finance Network: The Secured Finance Network (formerly the Commercial Finance Association) brings together secured lenders, finance companies, factors, service providers, and others who do the important work of providing the capital that fuels our nations' economies. The International Factoring Association: The International Factoring Association's (IFA) goal is to assist the Factoring community by providing information, training, purchasing power and a resource for the Factoring community. Membership is open to all banks and finance companies that perform financing or factoring through the purchase of invoices or other types of accounts receivable. All members must adhere to the IFA's Code of Ethics.
