A Rugby shirt is a shirt worn in the popular Rugby game. It usually has long sleeves. Rugby shirts have a buttoned opening at the top, in a similar style to polo shirts with but with a stiffer collar than a polo shirt. A traditional design of Rugby Shirts consists of five or six horizontal stripes or 'hoops' in alternating colors. A number of football teams have adopted this pattern, such as Queens Park Rangers and Parma A.C.. The rugby jerseys are slightly different depending on the type of rugby game played. The shirts worn by rugby league footballers commonly have a large "V" around the neck. The players in rugby union wear jerseys with a more traditional design, sometimes completely white (Cahors Rugby in France). The rugby shirt has in numerous cultures been a popular fashion item. What is rugby? Rugby football is a collective name for the team sports of rugby league and rugby union, as well as the earlier forms of football from which both games evolved.
