Missy or misses.

The size difference between women's and misses clothing is that women's clothing tends to offer more room in the bust and waist.

The misses size range of clothing are for people who have a more slender, skinnier frame and waistline and are technically geared toward the teenager population who are still growing.

In the United States market, misses apparel is a size range designated by even sizes that increase by two, like 4, 6 and 8, for example. This size range is commonly used for everything from mass-market clothing to designer and contemporary labels.

Women clothes that are considered missy sized are two to eighteen. Missy sizes are bigger than junior, but just below women sizes.  Many designers use even numbers to display missy sizes such as 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12. Missy size 18 is often the upper limit of sizes, though some designers extend their size range to a size 20 or even 24. Missy tops will often be sized XS, S, M, L, XL, and XXL and are styled to flatter the more average size woman.

Differences between junior size, missy, and petities:

• A junior size is cut to fit a young body with fewer curves, smaller bust and less definition between waist and hips.
• Missy size are cut for a more developed figure with a few more curves.
• Petites are cut for shorter body, between 5ft to 5ft 4in. It does not mean skinny, slight, fine boned or anything, it only denotes clothes for someone who is shorter than average.
