Welcome to the worlds greatest guide to Women's Cashmere Fashion.
Demand for cashmere fashion is always high because it's made from a special kind of wool. A luxurious fiber that creates glorious clothing.
Cashmere is a soft luxury fiber prized for warm, soft, and beautiful sweaters, scarves, gloves, jackets, hats, etc.
Cashmere originated in the Himalayan regions of Central and Southeast Asia, but over the centuries the goals producing this type of wool have spread to various other mountainous regions. The goats thrive in adverse conditions and they grow thick coats for cold mountain winters. During the spring season the goats are combed for their downy under-layer of cashmere fibers. The fibers are soft, lofty, and fine.
What is cashmere?
The name cashmere comes from the word Kashmir which is the region where its production and trade originated.
Cashmere wool, usually simply known as cashmere, is a fiber obtained from cashmere goats and other types of goat. Common usage defines the fiber as wool but is finer and softer, giving its characteristics as compared to sheep's wool. Some say it is hair, but as seen below, cashmere requires the removal of hair from the wool.
How to care for cashmere fashion:
Hand washing is often the recommended way to clean cashmere clothing.
Why is cashmere fashion expensive?
Cashmere comes from the soft undercoat of goats bred to produce the wool. It takes more than two goats to make a single two-ply sweater. The fibers of the warming undercoat must be separated from a coarser protective top coat during the spring molting season, a labor-intensive process that typically involves combing and sorting the hair by hand. Cashmere is more expensive and sought after has to do with the quality of the fiber. Namely, clothes made from cashmere are up to 8 times warmer than clothes made from sheep wool, despite being a lot lighter in weight.
