Did you sell more clothing this year in comparison to last year?  What percent has your business grown?   Percent change from one season to the next, year to year, month to month, etc.

• Step 1: Calculate the change (subtract old value from the new value).

• Step 2: Divide that change by the old value (you will get a decimal number).

• Step 3: Convert that to a percentage (by multiplying by 100 and adding a "%" sign).

• Note: when the new value is greater than the old value, it is a percentage increase, otherwise it is a decrease.

If you prefer to not do the math, that is perfectly acceptable. You can just as easily use an online calculator.

When we go to the Bing search engine and type, “how to calculate percent change” three fabulous calculators have appeared. Certainly they may change their service, but as of today, the following is an example of the percentage calculator that appears.
