  Society of Dyers and coloristsIn order to make every effort 'to advance the science of color', the Society of Dyers and colorists aims to disseminate information through the coloration industry and beyond.  This is done through the work done by the members of Council, the various committees and the membership worldwide.  The headquarters of the Society are based in Bradford, UK where the aim of the Society is embodied in:

The SDC is the outstanding provider of color education, offering a range of internationally recognised coloration courses and qualifications. Our mission is to educate the changing world in the science of color. Founded in 1884, the SDC became a registered charity in 1962 and was awarded a Royal Charter in 1963. The SDC remains the only organisation in the world able to award the Chartered colorist status. The SDC works globally, with worldwide membership and is a centre for networking and community engagement amongst the coloration industry.
