SGS OptiTex announces new name, new location, and new products
April 21, 2003 New York - OptiTex USA, Inc. (Scanvec Garment Systems) is pleased to announce the opening of its new North American Headquarters at 325 West 38th St., Suite 612, in the heart of the historic New York City garment district. Previously located in Philadelphia, PA, moving to New York City brings us closer to our customers and business partners, and allows us to more efficiently serve the sewn-goods industry. The North American Headquarters will provide services such as sales, product demonstrations, training, and support for the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
In tandem with the move of the office comes a new name for the company, OptiTex USA Inc. In the past, some in the industry knew the company as Scanvec Garment Systems, while others were familiar with the name SGS, or OptiTex, the new name conveys our identity to the industry with greater clarity.
In addition to the new name and new location, OptiTex USA Inc. is pleased to announce the release of OptiTex version 9 this spring. As a recognized leader in blending the two worlds of 2D and 3D product development, OptiTex V9 now conveniently integrates these two worlds on the desktop of OptiTex users in one easy-to-use user-interface. Flat patterns created in OptiTex PDS, or converted from other CAD systems, can now be viewed on physical parametric virtual models, and check for construction, fit and draping, without having to switch between different applications. The results, including fabric designs can be shared via standard web browsers with others in the product development process. This unique 3D collaboration tool can also be used in conjunction with conceptual textile design systems to generate virtual storyboards for merchandising.
OptiTex USA is now demonstrating these innovative new products at our New York office, and remote demonstrations are now conveniently available via remote sessions.
