Gerber Technology announces the release of WebPDM™ Version 4.1. This newest version delivers powerful capabilities that provide customers with the kind of leading-edge features they need to more effectively manage the challenges of offshore sourcing and manufacturing. WebPDM offers expanded browser capability giving remote users access to the most current product data from any internet-ready computer.
“In order to achieve timely launch of new lines, it’s vital to be able to conduct business as if there were no national borders or time zone barriers,” said George Feldenkreis, CEO, Perry Ellis International. "WebPDM’s browser capabilities enable Perry Ellis to reach out to its global network of vendors more effectively."
“There’s an open and active line of communication among customers and Gerber’s WebPDM product management and software development teams: users define new features of WebPDM on an ongoing basis,” said Suzanne Auyeung, Software Product Manager for Gerber Technology. “This has enabled us to deliver high-value enhancements for both WebPDM administrators and users and reflects our commitment to taking a customer-centric approach to the evolution of WebPDM.” Gerber regularly holds Customer Advisory Board meetings and User Meetings.
Gerber’s PDM platform was introduced 15 years ago with Classic PDM – a product that evolved into WebPDM. Today, with excess of 60 percent global market share, WebPDM is the most successful product lifecycle management solution on the market. “It is widely received by the manufacturing and retail community because it’s a solution that mirrors processes in the real world,” added Auyeung. WebPDM users include Li & Fung, Footlocker, Carrefour, Littlewoods, Matalan, Uvex, Carter’s, Jockey International, Kellwood, Talbots, Kohl’s, JC Penney, K-Mart, Mexx, Nordstrom, Koramsa, Limited Brands, Chico’s and Federated Department Stores, among many others.
