Liz Claiborne Inc. has named BAX Global a $2.1 billion transportation and supply chain management company, to handle its Asia logistics and provide international transportation services, it was announced today. The first orders will be handled through BAX Global's new apparel center at its Hong Kong logistics center which will be serving Liz Claiborne customers in the Middle East, according to Louis DiDonato, BAX Global Accounts Manager -- Retail. The logistics award follows a major, one-year contract received by Irvine-based BAX from Liz Claiborne Inc. last year to serve as its freight forwarder for imports to the U.S. "We selected BAX Global because we saw the potential to service our customers more efficiently and cost effectively," said Joseph Giudice, Vice President for Liz Claiborne Inc.'s logistics and distribution group. "We look forward to working with BAX in what is now a global partnership." Lois Davis, Liz Claiborne Inc.
