Fingerhut Companies, Inc. today announced the delivery of a truckload of domestic items to the people of Bristol, Tenn. from its company store in Johnson City. Fingerhut is donating nearly 900 products worth over $15,000 in order to help victims of the recent floods. The donation includes items such as blankets, comforters, sheets and throws.
"Fingerhut is dedicated to helping the people of the communities where our employees live and work," said Michael Barrett, general manager of Fingerhut's Tennessee Distribution, Inc. "The disaster in the Bristol area is very close to home, and we felt we needed to do something to help."
The donation is going through King Pharmaceuticals Benevolent Fund, and the trailer is arriving at a location near Bristol, where the products will be unloaded and delivered as needed. The flooding in SW Virginia and NE Tennessee has directly impacted several Fingerhut employees and family members of associates.
