Program Held in Conjunction with Global Fabric & Trimming Event's Home Furnishings Showcase
ATLANTA (August 10, 2005) Cotton Incorporated will present "A Collection of Colors and Fabrics for the Home in 2007" in conjunction with the new Home Furnishings Showcase at the Material World New York exhibition, September 28-30, 2005 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Scheduled for Thursday, September 29 from 9:30 10:30 a.m., the program will be led by Color and Textile Trend Forecaster Dana Poor, who also heads up Cotton Incorporated's New York-based home trend forecasting team.
Poor's presentation will consist of 26 colors, key fabric directions and constructions, and new concepts and themes that will impact the home market in the future. An extensive overview of lifestyle trends and consumer attitudes will also be included in her seasonal presentations. Admission is free to all registered Material World attendees. Seating is based on a first-come, first serve basis so early arrival is recommended.
Building upon the successful debut of the Home Furnishings Showcase during the March 2005 edition of Material World Miami Beach, show producer/manager Urban Expositions is bringing the Home Furnishings Showcase to New York. Offering a variety of fabric, leather, trim and service resources for home furnishings industry members, this showcase complements Material World New York's extensive selection of apparel resources and firmly establishes it as the one-stop global resource for sourcing, fabric, trim and trends.
The Material World New York Home Furnishings Showcase will feature a variety of mills, converters, leather and trimming manufacturers showcasing product in a wide variety of categories, including cottons, chenille, chintzes, velvets, faux fabrics, flocks, jacquards, leather, sheeting, tapestries and more. Among the companies that will be part of the New York Home Furnishings Showcase are: Alexander Henry; Discount Fabrics; Excell Fabrics; Expo International; Fabric Country; Global Leather; Home Couture Collective/Gelberg Braid; Lafayette Internacional S.A.; Leatherworks; Medike; Michael Miller; Milliken; Nippon High Pile/Luco Int'l; Novatex; OHCO; Shannon; Skin Prints; Sommers Plastic; Tex-Tenn; Veteran Leather; World Linen; YLI Trims
Target attendees for Material World's Home Furnishings section include upholstery manufacturers, retailers, interior designers, jobbers and over-the- counter businesses.
"We're delighted to add Cotton Incorporated's home fashion color and trend presentation to our line-up," says Betty Webb, sales director, Material World New York. "Attendees from the home furnishings industry will have the unrivaled opportunity to explore the latest offerings from industry leaders, attend fabulous forecasting programs like this one and get an inside look at breaking apparel colors, trends, textures and fabrics, which currently influence home furnishing trend directions."
As an added benefit for attendees, the Home Furnishings section will also feature a special trend and color pavilion highlighting fabric and resources from many exhibiting companies.
Urban Expositions and the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) announced the launch of the new fall edition of Material World New York earlier this year in response to increasing industry demand for a global fabric, trend and sourcing event in the New York marketplace. Urban Expositions and the AAFA will build upon the steady growth and solid international reputation of the Material World Miami Beach event to ensure the success of the New York exhibition.
