Gadzooks, Inc. (Nasdaq: GADZ) today announced that sales for the four weeks of fiscal October ended November 2, 2002 increased 3.2 percent to $19.2 million from $18.6 million for fiscal October 2001. Comparable store sales decreased 0.6 percent for the October period, compared to a 9.7 percent decline for fiscal October of 2001.
Sales for the 13 weeks of the third quarter ended November 2, 2002 increased 0.7 percent to $73.7 million from $73.2 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2001. Comparable store sales declined 5.1 percent for the quarter, versus a 3.2 percent decrease for the third quarter of fiscal 2001.
For the first 39 weeks of fiscal 2002, total sales increased 5.6 percent to $228.7 million from $216.6 million for the comparable period of fiscal 2001. Comparable store sales have declined 3.6 percent for the first 39 weeks of fiscal 2002, versus a 5.6 percent decrease for the first 39 weeks of fiscal 2001.
