Island Pacific, a division of SVI Solutions, Inc. (AMEX: SVI), announced today at the National Retail Federation (NRF) 92nd Annual Convention and Expo at Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York city, the appointment of Harvey Braun, a well-known and highly-respected retail industry veteran, as Chief Executive Officer of Island Pacific. In this position, Mr. Braun will lead the company through the next evolution of product and service offerings to meet the ever-changing needs of retailers worldwide.
“It’s time for a revolution in the evolution of our industry,” said Braun. “We will not simply introduce products with updated report writing capability or faster data access – that’s the way the industry evolved in the past. We will bring retailers solutions that will change the way they look at their business. We are building the most complete network of expertise available to build these solutions and to be ‘on-call’ for retailers. Keep your eye on Island Pacific - we are here to start a revolution.”
Barry Schechter, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SVI, stated, “We are positioning Island Pacific to lead the market not just today, but well into the future. After over 30 years in the business, Harvey has developed a strong commitment and vision of where the industry must go, and he will use Island Pacific as the vehicle to take it there. His skills compliment those of Steven Beck, our recently appointed President of Island Pacific. Together they provide the vision and business acumen to take SVI to the next level.”

As Global Industry Leader, he led the Deloitte Consulting CB/Retail Practice from its inception to where it has grown its consulting revenues to $500 million worldwide. He also co-led the combined consulting, audit and tax practice to almost $2 billion. He has served many of the leading retail and consumer goods companies with both domestic and global operations.
