The Apparel Search Company had
launched a website called the Jewelry Network in 2008 at
JewelryNetwork.org. We sold this website domain in September 2013.
The Jewelry Network was initially designed to be a business to
business social network for members of the jewelry industry to
connect with one another. The idea was to provide a convenient
place for designers, manufacturers, wholesalers, and boutique owners
to meet one another to communicate back and forth regarding industry
relevant issues. The initial concept was to create a network
similar to our
Fashion Industry Network website but dedicated specifically to
bracelets, rings, earrings, necklaces, watches, gems, etc.
In 2008, the Apparel
Search Company launched our original version of the Jewelry Network
at JewelryNetwork.org
With a slow to moderate growth rate of approximately 150 new members
per year, the B2B website developed into a pleasant niche community
of people with similar interests. Members communicated via the
industry specific forums, group categories, and the blog system.
Friends and colleagues were also able to contribute photos and
videos for the network members to review.
During the same time period, we continued to work on improving our
fashion industry community
at our FIN website (FashionIndustryNetwork.com).
In September 2013, it was decided
that we could better service our network members by focusing our
attention on only one social network. After deep thought and
much regret, the decision was made to phase out
the business networking
platform at the JewelryNetwork.org
website.
If you wish to join
us for discussions about Jewelry and the Jewelry Industry, you are
welcome to join us at the
Jewelry Discussion Group on the Fashion Industry Network.
