The Department of Customs and VAT is trusted with the collection of approximately 45% of the total taxes collected by the treasury, and has an integral part in the administration of foreign trade in the State of Israel. In addition it constitutes a main factor in the area of internal trade. The Department invests much effort in implementations which are based on electronic messages, which all the Department to improve customer service, and to provide accurate and immediate information, by lessening dissension between the authorities and the customers.
